Anyone heard of Lasagne Planting at all.Is it a success?
It is planting with more than one bulb in a single pot and it is layered like a Lasagne

It is the process of composting, often done in old tyres or other vessel, you can use kitchen waste, cardboard, old carpet in fact anything that decomposes, then top off with some compost and soil, wait for it to rot down and seed it.
I wouldn't like to have to live off the produce but it is a bit of fun if you only have a back yard or small garden.

      Hi Bg
Lasagne is a good way of expaining it....

Yes do this every year but only with new bulbs though after it has finished I plant the pot out at the back of my fence , all the bulbs should have the flowers in already so just start with Tulips then daffs then onions then hyacinth , small bulbs crocus etc , be careful with planting on top ie polyanthus as one year I had so many bulbs it pushed them out

I have the Rodale book on it which contains really extravagent claims about how successful it is, quite an amusing read for a 50p purchase from a charity shop, but it did have a few useful tips in it.

I've had lovely pots in the past with the method as described by Spruce. Haven't done it since we moved, a mere eight years ago!
