As a S.A.D sufferer I embrace the cold frosty mornings of winter, as they bring blue skys and sunshine.:yay:

Its the grey wet days that make me wish I was one of the animals that hibernate for winter.:(

It eventually dropped down to 1.9 degrees here a few minutes ago, now back up to 2.2...

Forecast is for 2 degrees here Wednesday night but I'll be taking precautions before then as they only forecast it to go down to 6-7 degrees last night :rolleyespink:

I know it's not much good for flowers and certain veg. I'm not a veg grower but I believe it's good for brussel sprouts. Or have I got that wrong? :)

According to my daugher you are incorrect and the only thing that's good for brussel sprouts is this:

On roastie parsnips however she'd be in agreement.

I absolutely love brussel sprouts. As do most people I know up here.

When I lived and worked in Sheffield, just 100 miles south of here, the general consensus was that they are horrible, indeed they are 'the devil's bogies'.

By chance, I came across some piece of news a while ago about the money wasting scientists, who'd found that sprouts are generally liked in the north, but hated in the south.

My husband would agree with her!

I love brussel sprouts. When I was pregnant with my first daughter I was obsessed with them. I'd cook and eat platefuls and being pregnant it didn't do much for the wind situation. :heehee:

Just had our first frost this morning - it looked almost lik snow on the lawn but now it's lovely and sunny so clearing quickly.

Brussell sprouts - we love them!!! and the frost makes them taste sweeter.
