    Any legal eagles on GC?

As we have moved we decided we ought to make a new will.

Can a cousin, who is not a beneficiary, witness and sign for us?

    Thanks

They can almost certainly be a witness :dbgrtmb:

If you are thinking of doing a new will then look at this site

    Will Aid

November is Will Aid month. A good solicitor will do your will for you and all you need to do is make a donation to the Will Aid charity. They will probably suggest a minimum of £75 as a donation but you don't have to do that.

I took one of the people I look after to a very good solicitor last November and he couldn't afford much. The solicitor said he needn't give anything (he's on benefits) but he wanted to give £25. The solicitor doesn't mind how little you give as they are doing it for nothing anyway.

Thanks Marley - doesn't say that cousins are not allowed so that's ok.

thanks for info. We had a solicitor sort wills out for us quite a few years
ago so I have copied wording exactly just replacing address and dates.
All we need now is for signatures to be witnessed and as cousin and her
husband are visiting next week we thought it was a good opportunity.

    :)

    The simple answer is 'Yes'.

Your Will will, need two witnesses, but then of course you knew that.

Since you're not asking me to witness it for you, can I assume I am now a beneficiary? [IMG]

:loll:Well, if you care to call round Sis
we will be only too pleased for you to be a witness
but thought 192 miles each way was a bit much to ask:heehee:
