Good morning Scotkat my friend my apologies for not answering you earlier, I personally would suggest planting it now would be just fine,Make sure that it will get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Roses grow well with bone meal I usually mix some with the soil that is going back in the hole, Make sure that everything is combined well.If you are putting in bare root rose plants, be sure to cut down the height of the canes to at least 8 inches, and removed any damaged or diseased roots. The pruning is necessary to promote growth, even if it seems a bit extreme.Hope this helps my friend:)

use some rootgrow (Mycorrhizal Fungi) ... read on google on how to use

for roses, I use John Innes #3, some of the topsoil then mixed with 30% well rotted farmyard manure and 2-3 handfuls of superphosphate or bonemeal mixed into the mixture

I have only recently started using rootgrow, and have seen that David Austin also recomends using this when planting his roses

Whoa, go steady on those application rates, that amount on my chalky soil would be slow death to any plant. Follow the application rate on the pack, some superphosphates are ‘triple’ strength by the way so even less volume is needed. :dbgrtmb:

I know you said bone meal Woo ,which got done when planted.

When is next time I should feed and how often through the season.

And you I stick to Bone Meal ?

Good afternoon Scotkat my friend ,I usually put 4 ozs to a square metre in the spring, I never feed later in the summer as I think that this will promote late young soft growth which will be damaged by the first frost, only my opinion though:WINK1::)
