Hey there i go fishing on too many lakes to list, most are private commercial fisheries where i pay a day ticket .. the Canal i fish is the Grand Union.. a licence for a year is 27 pounds or 18 if you are retired ..and no the water is not clean and its illegal to take fish home esp from private waters .. if you want to keep fish then sea fishing may be an option Micky

    River Tweed
You go further inland and lay on the ground alongside the river
You put your hand under the fish and tickle it then WHEEK it out on to the bank
Fresh 12Lb Salmon for free tasty
Or you can cast a line with a fresh prawn on, they like to bite that

I've Coarse fished since I was 7 years old, I was brought up fishing rivers but naturally progressed on to fishing lakes and the like. I am a specialist/specimen angler (targetting the larger ones :D), I currently hold the British Record for the Golden Orfe caught in 2000.

I consider myself quite experienced although there's always plenty to learn.

I have also written and had several articles published in some of the monthly fishing mags.

When I was living in Cheshire I managed a 6 acre lake and surrounding land for a fishing Club for 12 years.

Not fished so much in recent years since marrying my lovely wife and starting a family but I'm still involved with the fishing Club and have just written a chapter for a book that's due to be released in 2013.

I feel really lucky for that opportunities that I've had in fishing over the years :thumb:

Now you can expect some of us to be curious about the title of the book and how to get it. (is it online or paper?)

Hi, it's not my own book :D but one being produced by a fishing group and will; as I understand it :D, only be available to its members initially....

It will be a hardback book with limited leather bound editions....

I've seen someone tickle a trout then just whisk it out the water, I wouldn't have believed it possible without seeing it with my own eyes.

Hi Micky, I caught the Orfe from Lymmvale in Cheshire (the water I looked after for 12 years) at a weight of 8lb 5oz in April 2000

Lymmvale IS the home of the orfe, they were first stocked back in the 70's and the water has held the record almost exclusively ever since, the record was only taken elsewhere a couple of times, which was Horton Church Pool in the mid-90's.

Angler's Paradise (a place I have also fished on numerous occasions) has them to 7lb+, not sure about the almost double figure "would be" record breakers that the owner claims (another Zyg by the way :D)

          Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and love my allotment, but my second love is course fishing,i go on average twice a week.I fish at a lake 3 miles from Filey. It is a grand place to fish with plenty of wild life to keep you entertained,I have a young friendly Robin who comes and sits on my box next to me and takes my maggots and worms but will not sit and let me get a photo of him.
