Hello, I attach a photo of a fruit from our new garden in Devon. Can anyone help to identify it?

Hi Tink99 and welcome to Gardeners Corner:dbgrtmb: unfortunately we can't see your photo:scratch: I think this is possibly because you have tried to link to a photo from your Gmail account which Google do not allow.

Please have a look at this thread which shows you how to include photo's in your forum post's

These are from my quince tree which are sort of williams pear shaped/colour but very hard and have a delightful, intense fragrance, and I'm using them for wine (but quince jelly is also very good). How many have you got?

I've always understood it to be it the other way round, that tree is a quince and the bush is Chaenomeles (AKA Japonica) Chaenomeles

There is pear quince, which looks like a pear,:D, apple quince, which looks like an apple, ( both edible ) and Japanese quince, which is really ornamental. It is edible, but not as tasty as the true quinces.:dbgrtmb: Forgot to say. The first two grow on trees, Chaenomeles (japanese quince ) is a shrub.

Thanks everyone for your help. The fruit is off a bush so it looks like it is a Japanese quince!
