    :(

Veteran broadcaster and charity campaigner Sir Jimmy Savile has died at his home in Leeds, according to Sky sources.

    He was aged 84.
Police were called to his home at 1210 on Saturday, where they discovered his body.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Born in Leeds in 1926, the youngest of seven children, Savile will perhaps be best remembered for the wildly successful seventies TV series 'Jim'll Fix It'.
Thousands of children would write into the show in the hope of having their wishes granted.

      Now Then! Now Then!

A real gent. And a real supporter of the Great North Run in the earlier years.
Did a great deal for many people - often without media involvement. A genuine character.

I only really remember him from top of the pops. He is getting a lot of news time so he must have been good though.

Woke up the other morning after a rough night and saw a familiar face in the mirror, framed by fuse-wire blonde hair. 'treetreetreetree', I thought, it's 'treetreetreetreetreetreetree' Jimmy Saville! Then, to my horror, it slowly dawned on me that I was admiring my own reflection. :gaagh: RIP Sir Jim, but your look is one I'm not ready to channel quite yet.

Now that Sir Jimmy Savile has died I guess that gives Bob the Builder the monopoly on fixing it

I didn't particularly go for his image but he did so much for children he has to be respected and admired.:)

We remember him well for all his good work at Stoke Mandeville Hospital where both hubby and I have had treatment.

                RIP Jimmy xx
