It does not convince me, I am sorry to say. I was looking forward to admire beautiful garments either wisely chosen by herself or by somebody who knows about clothing but all what I see so far is a succession of dresses unsuitable for her figure and it is just becoming a pain to watch...

Hi Miraflores , totally agree since the Hanoverian lot took over its been more Primark and George rather than Dolce and Gabbana !

I have not a picture in particular to show you and I can tell you that I have been reading newspapers very scarcely in the last few weeks. It is the general feeling that I have.

I think K Middy does OK. We've all seen what happens when the royals try to do edgy (think Princesses Beatrice and Eugene at the royal wedding - nooooooooo!). On the other hand, when they give up completely (see Princess Anne at the same event, wearing the drawing room curtains) it's just as ugly. Kate dresses the part and never looks inappropriate. I loved this little outfit:-

It's quite classic but the dress is short enough to keep the look young (lamb dressed as mutton is a problem for young royals - remember Diana wearing that fright of a suit for her engagement pictures?) and I love the wedges.

Here is Di looking a right old frump. Hard to believe she was only nineteen or twenty. I think her mum helped her to choose this dreadful ensemble. She should have been kept under lock and key.

I wouldn't mind seeing young Kate looking inappropriate.

Actually Claralou that black jacket in the picture does wonders because it covers the unsightly fold of skin in the armpit area and the upper part of the lower arm which is also not one of her forte and diminishes the impact of the slighly bend posture.

:heehee: Oh, Paula, I think you're being a little harsh. I think she has nice long slim limbs and good posture.

Gentleman, open the link below and study the picture on the right. Which lady would you rather find yourself seated next to, the Grecian goddess in the middle, or one of her charming handmaidens? :D

Actually you happended to choose there exactly the picture upon which I based my criticism.

Of course she is a pretty lady but that has nothing to do wearing suitable clothes for your figure, especially if you are in the public eye.
I am sure that her husband is pleased with her choices and that's all what matters.

Well, I'm studying her arms for imperfections :heehee: but I just can't find any. They look pretty good to me. Everyone with the possible exception of Barbie has creasing at the armpits, just as elbows and knees betray signs that we actually move around. The really depressing thing is that most of us look more like the unfortunate oompa loompas on either side of K Middy than Kate herself. Time for another crash diet; never too rich or too thin. :D

I think someone in her position is likely to be criticised whatever she wears. Considering that, she has attracted very little indeed, so far, so fair play to her. I thought the Middleton family en masse gave an absolutely flawless performance, especially dress-wise, on the day of the wedding. I think they appreciate that the safest course is simple, elegant dressing, with colours and shapes chosen to flatter.

The evening gown with silvery straps is beautiful, but Kate is too thin to do it justice. I thought it did make her arms look scrawny, and revealed her slight posture fault. If it had been cut to come higher up under her armpits that effect could have been minimised without spoiling the lovely grecian-style decollete - her designer should have known this. Her arms would then have looked slim, toned and delicate instead.

Kate is so tall and slim she can wear many styles with ease. The "bandage dress" is an example, although I personally don't like them and can't see why anyone wants to look like an extra from the Curse of the Mummy. However, I think she should steer clear of tightly-fitted things that make her look somewhat emaciated - as things which cling tightly over the hips are wont to do. See - you can't win.

She looks fabulous in fitted, elegant suits - but then so would lots of us. Strangely enough, I don't possess one!

I think what we would all like to see her in next is a maternity dress.
