Britains oldest family business has been around since 1535 apparently. Butchers RJ Balson and Sons crowned oldest family business in Britain | Mail Online I can confirm they still use sawdust on the floor.:D:D
I didn`t go in, you just can`t mistake it. Especially with the sawdust. Took me back to the butchers of my childhood.
yuk all that meat and pigs heads proudly on display, how times have changed and how come the meat never went OFF nowadays a piece of Steak or Pork would go off in a few hours if not refrigerated .. Mmm strange
Michael, you have to remember the animals were grown naturally. No hormones or other artificial feeds. They were TRULY organic.
Your so right Daithe , i never thought of that , i remember the sausages when i were a kid were so much nicer than now .. when my ma cooked them the sausage meat used to oooze out of the ends unless you pricked them with a fork .. also in the old days if you cooked a joint of Beef you would be left with copious amounts of dripping , and now the same joint will produce half a cup full if your lucky..and it all tasted much nicer .. huh
