Persimmons (Sharon Fruit, Kaki etc.) anyone tried them?

      I bought one of these in Morrisons today, larger that the ones I've tried before, they had them as well.

      Anyway, I think they are very juicy, and sweet.
      Usual problem though, absolutely tasteless.:)

      I found this when they had been artificially ripened by freezing :)

        I feel the need to point out that rhubarb is actually from China and they mostly think where nuts for eating it:heehee: (click the link above the video from where I found out Rhubarb was from:loll:)

        I just learned that this fruit does not fall once ripened, but stays on the tree until it is rotten.

          bought some guavas today from an Indian spice shop ... 50 pence each

          have not had these for a long time (never seen them in the UK)

          one of my best fruits

            sounds like a lizard ... but a really tasty fruit

            supposed to be one of the top 'superfoods' .... the south african ones have a different colour on the inside but taste exactly the same as the ones from India (the ones I bought today) ... you eat it with the outer skin

            these are what the south afican ones look like .... the ones I had today are a bit lighter in colour on the inside .... you eat the pips aswell
