Now, I don't like Bob Dylan but about a month ago I was listening to Bob Harris between 12 and 1am on BBC Radio 2. He played an instrumental of Bobs (with his band) that I'm trying to track down. The problem is I've got next to no info.

The album it came from was released in a year ending with a 4. Possibly 1974/84/94/2004. The title also I don't remember, although I remember it being obscure. I was driving my car at the time so couldn't write it down.

If there's any chance you can help, I'll be forever in your debt! :)

My all time favourite musician .... I have all his cd's, but I have just turned 50, so am in a different age group to many

perhaps I had a traumatic childhood?

but if I look back at my late childhood days, .... most of my classmates used to go to pubs, disco's, drink, get beaten up etc and were total hooligans

me and my very close mates used to go camping in remote spots, serious fishing, smoke, BBQ, have a few/several beers, listen to good music, good laughter and discussions and mellow out

Bob Dylan's music always was in the background sometime or other

you need to listen to the words of his music to appreciate it

sitting on a remote beach ... fishing rod in hand .... good weather, good beer ...a smoke .... totally relaxed and very mellow ... very happy ....and this playing:

unless you have experienced all of that, it will be hard to understand what I am trying to get across

          Hi Sheal.
Bob Dylan has done tons and tons of songs and albums but I don't think he has done that many instrumentals. Would you know the name if you heard it again?

Yes Hydro, it was quite a diverse title. :) It was also a more recent sound, which leads me to think it's probably one of his later pieces of music.

I have tried to do a Google search for Bob Dylan instrumentals but nothing. As much as I like the idea, of you being forever in my debt I am powerless to help :(

Thanks everyone but I'm still at a loss. :dbgrtmb:

Trunky I've checked out the above but there doesn't seem to be any lisitings for the early hours of Saturday morning in the past couple of months. Thanks for trying.

Think I'll have to go through his albums one by one. I'll let you know if I find it. :)

Bob Dylan played an unidentified instrumental on track 18 of his Angel of Rain CD in 1984. on the Rattlesnake label, Catalogue number RS 226

Maybe that was the one you heard. :)

:) Well done Shiney for tracking it down, must say it didn't ring any bells with me.
But for me he obtained his legendary status for his original philosophical lyrics.......pure genius.:love30:...........imho.

                Thanks roders :dbgrtmb:'

I found it by coincidence as I was trying to find out what year I went to see Bob performing down at the Chislehurst Caves. I definitely saw him there but can't find any record of it

Blimey that is obscure, nice find.

The only instrumentals I've been able to find are Nashville Skyline Rag, Woogie Boogie, Wigwam, Billy (Main Title Theme) / Cantina Theme (Workin' For The Law) / Bunkhouse Theme / River Theme / Turkey Chase / Final Theme
