      Blimey,

We were having a bite to eat in Wimpeys once. We saw half the slug fall from our mates salad into his coffee, but none of us had the heart to tell him till he had finished his meal & drank his coffee. Didn't want to put him off.

We were in our early 20s, couldn't help it:heehee: The same crowd were sat in the pub, i'd just come back from the loo & had just started to drink my beer when I realised they were all silently just looking at the table.

I instinctively spat the beer back out. When I inspected my beer I found a real pair of false teeth in the bottom, they'd got them from a jumble sale.

              :heehee:

Moved to a new house when I was younger, the bathroom tap was next to my bedroom, much closer than the kitchen when i'd had a night out on the beer.

Came down with a horrible rash all over, it was only then that I traced the source of the bathroom tap to an open tank in the loft with a dead pigeon floating in it.

We know a poem about that don't we children,

They can't delete things once they are on the net:D

BBC News - Dead bird found in Tesco salad by Somerset family

I've used that tesco's, how come I don't get added extras?

Now a lobster or monkfish added to a salad would be a bonus, as long as they didn't charge more:thumbsup:

Maybe it was meant to be chicken salad.

Anyway, if he was going to be satisfied with limp salad and a ready made pizza, a dead bird isn't really that big a deal by comparison surely:)

When I was a teen working in a grocers my cousin and I had a couple of friends. One worked in a butchers, the other was a "hard" ROCKER. We soon brought him down.:dbgrtmb: We got an actual bulls eye from the butcher and inserted it in a jam doughnut. I can see the rocker to this day, with the eyeball dangling from his mouth.:loll::loll::loll:

It was a 'baby leaf and rocket' salad.
So presumably Tesco will promise to launch a full investigation. :D

Reminds me of a story my Great Aunt Mabel used to tell of when she worked as a maid 'in service' in a large wealthy household around the early 1900's.
A young gentleman who was 'courting' the daughter of this rather well to do family had been invited to Sunday tea.
As young Mabel was attending to the table she noticed the young gentleman visitor momentarily staring at his plate having observed a slug nestled on a lettuce leaf in the salad.
Apparently, desperate to make a good impression and not wishing to cause offence to his hosts, he simply wrapped the slug up in the lettuce leaf and ate it without comment.
By heck, they were made of stern stuff back in those days!
