I was watching a nature program...sorry can't remember which one...A lady used the dog hair that came off the brushes that she groomed her dog with and crambed it into a bird feeder for the birds to use as nesting material....Since then i've done the same and also used the fluff from the tumble dryer...I gave my nest boxes an autumn clean and there inside were the most gorgeous fluffy nests:yess:.I should have taken a photo:DOH:
I will do next time i clean them out....:sunny:

A friend on another gardening forum was featured on a GW episode and they showed her doing just that !
She grooms her German Shepherd and saves the hair, pushes it into a tubular bird feeder and the birds go to it for nesting - it's such a good idea :)

I've started doing it with my cats hair, you can also stuff moss in there too.

I've been doing this for years.
I get plenty of fluffy hair from my Samoyed. When the birds take it,they look like little Father Christmases. :heehee:

Wow Naylor that is some dog hair
I know you can get bird feeders that are designed for hair and fluff
So you can recycle hair of all sort and the birds love it for their nests
