Just cleared my 8 x6 greenhouse, remnants of tomatoes, cucumber and pepper plants. Is it possible to grow any winter veg in an unheated greenhouse?

I've put some stuff that normally does ok outside in mine after making a mental note last year that i'd wished i'd covered stuff up before the snow hit.

So i've now got Leaf Beet, Watercress, Land Cress & a couple of PSB in there.

I grow lambs lettuce in mine, it's very hardy and provides fresh salad over the winter :-)

    Greenhouse winter lettuce

    Thanks Ziggy and JWK,
Can other varieties of lettuce been grown at this time of year - Rocket, Cos, etc? What about radishes?

Did some Cos in the hot bed last winter & they hearted up in early spring.

Mizuna and Mibuna would be a better bet than Rocket, i've got some Rocket in pots that was planted about a month ago and its just not moving.

Mustard "green in snow" - well, the name says it all really.

Only lambs lettuce is tough enough to keep growing, cos will survive if you fleece it but it doesn't grow. Rocket and radishes are a no no :dbgrtmb:

Spinach is another toughy that you might try btw. You need to have started it a few weeks ago though as its too late to sow anything from seed now.
