Yes, of course it was just a joke, most people understand that (and for the record, I too find him funny, at times). The thing that slightly concerns me though, is that there are mindless morons/yobs out there that, with a belly full of beer, are likely to have a bash (literally) at public sector workers, I'm thinking places like the Casualty department. From what I can tell, these places CAN be bad enough already. I guess in a few days it'll all be forgotton about anyway

Yes, he is, but he just says it the way he sees it and these days that is utterly refreshing!! I don't always agree with him, I don't agree with what he said about people who jump in front of trains being 'selfish', I think that anyone seriously contemplating suicide is totally incapable of any rational thinking.

Val, the only reason the unions have jumped on Clarksons remarks is to take the heat off themselves. They should never have called the strike and they know it.
