After much research and deliberation, I have finally ordered a new camera. The Pan FZ45 which I was going for has slipped in preference for the Nikon P500, I hope I have made the right choice as it should be here in a few days.
    Woo, have you tested one?

Strongy, I bought a new Canon a couple of weeks ago in Jessops. I was told there, that nothing was coming out of the Nikon factory as they had lost all there stock to floods.

I hope they were wrong, but that's why I decided to go for a Cannon, which I'm very pleased with. :)

Armandii, things are good so far with the Cannon although I still haven't had much chance to get out with it, the weather has been so bad. Took these shots trying to anchor myself in a force seven earlier in the week. They aren't to bad considering the conditions, with salt spray added. :)

There's a bit of camera shake, well actually it was complete body shake, I was trying to keep myself upright!

My sincere apologies Strongy ,my heads so full of catalogues and planning next years roses,I sometimes get these senior moments my friend:o I havent, reviewed this camera but have a friend at the camera club who purchased one,IMHO I find most of the bridge cameras are not far apart,The noise levels are always a worry over ISO400,and there can be problems in low light, but with all the extra,s on the P500 the Nikkor 36x optical zoom lens which is a 35mm equivalent of 22.5 - 810mm.My friend is happy with her P500,For what it is worth my friend I would have made the same choice:)

Thanks Woo, one of the things my fz7 suffers from is shutter lag but a couple of reviews said the P500 was very quick, we shall see, I know the lens is long and therefore front heavy so I might need to use my mini tripod sometimes. I will have to experiment with low light pics.:)
