New power tool development

    I think there is a market for a small battery or mains powered weeding tool that is hand held.

    Rather than go around with a hand held trowel or fork or hoe, something that just weeds / lifts soil around plants in a border or flower bed.

    Especially good for the aged with less gripping power or other problems.

    It wouldn't be of any use for the likes of my 90 year old father in law who can't bend, has heavy clay soil, and wouldn't be able to control it when it would either get clogged up or bounce around and start wrapping plants around the tines. Not everybody is able bodied or has such wonderful soil. But something capable of tethering to the spot and not requiring to be supported (don't suggest a harness, he couldn't cope) and being pushed down vertically might just work.
