      Digressing slightly, does anyone remember the sugar shortage? It was about the same time as "Kung Fu" was on the tellybox, about 1973/74?

      It was the first time I ever saw a kilo bag, instead of a 2lb one, when the local shop managed to get a pallet of German sugar from somewhere.

      The bag seemed huge in comparison.

      Just a kid then, but I can remember my Mum struggling to get sugar in those days. :D

      No, def in the 70s. I remember going to look at a car with my brother & the hippys that were selling it had got hold of some american sweetner for the tea they gave us.

      Came as a liquid in a little plastic bottle, saw all sorts of monsters & flashing lights on the way home:what:

        This is pretty much unheard of on the island! A Hercules plane has flown in to the island this evening and again tomorrow morning to deliver stock for Marks and Spencer.

        I think I'll keep my head down, our airport Ronaldsway is tiny! :heehee:
