This nutcase jumped across whilst carrying his camera, tripod and a plastic bag in one hand.

It's so risky as he might have dropped his camera and damaged it! :rolleyespink:

Apparently, when he got onto the final rock he threw his camera and bag on to the top and then climbed up!!!!

Can any of you experts work out whether these are faked?

In every photo his footwear seems different and the last one looks like he has flip flops on as you can see his bare ankles, plus the top photo looks like he is wearing greyish looking jeans and the other three photo he has denim coloured ones on :what::scratch: Also in the top photo hsi image looks a bit fuzzy round his head but not sure whether that is the way the photo was taken.I would like to see the finsihed article of the scene he was actually taking a photo of :)

I can't say one way or another but there are those chaps who climb up rocky overhangs on mountains with no harnesses or support and then there are the photo doing the rounds where there are cyclists on mountain bikes riding round mountains where the overhang makes me cringe just looking at them:DAs you say with the technology these days in computers anything is possible:)

In the write up that I took the photos from it says that he was wearing flip flops. The person taking the photos of him is named but he says he hasn't the faintest idea who the man in the picture is.

Even if the gap between the stones is small you could never get me anywhere near it!!!!

I'm around 95% certain they are genuine, but they are a) poorly taken photo's and b) Badly processed afterwards, very badly.

Bad processing is often used to hide these fakes, and if I knew the 'tog or at least his work I could judge better by viewing his/her processing skills as some glaring mistakes have been missed/ignored.

    Steve...:)

Why go all that risk when he take a perfectly good picture from the rock on the right?
      A agree with Steve comments.

I think the first picture is different to the other three. In picture one the chap looks like he's wearing trainers, his harcut is different and also looks as if he is carrying less bodily weight. So I think the other three are shots of a different person. :)

Not so sure about that, Sheal. His hair seems to be the same to me (trust me, I'm a hairdresser :WINK1: :heehee:) but we're seeing it from the other side. No, I'm not a mystic! :D

They are all FAKE. He has no safety gear on him, no ropes tied from below to above in case he falls. The shoes he is wearing is all wrong for such a climb, not going in to how wrong his clothes are.

Well, there are people who free-climb just for a hobby and last for years with no safety protection. If he was used to this he may have judged that he could make that jump with reasonable safety.

It would bother me that he was jumping onto a rough sloping ledge with poor footwear - but he may have reckoned that he could get his hands clamped onto good holds which would save him if he lost his footing.

I think I'd have jumped if there'd only been a 6" drop, it looks do-able.

IMHO FAKED NO shadows, LIGHT on the rocks he is standing on but not on the vista opposite, and a very brave idiot to jump with one hand only available unbalanced with equipment on the one side
Front pix totally different to the distance pix

          No one is that stupid

I have no idea whether these are fakes but there are possible explanations for the objections so far.

According to the accompanying write up the person taking these photos said that he was there for a number of hours. This could account for any apparent anomaly between shadows in the first picture and the subsequent ones.

          Jack,
from my own, limited, knowledge of photography, the blueing effect you get with distance gives a deceptive look to light and shade and I'm not sure that I can spot anything wrong in this respect. Steve would be the one to give a more professional opinion of this - his landscape pictures are fantastic.

          Mahdahhlia,
It's only a little bit more than the 6" you said you would attempt. The write up says it's a 3,000' drop. :rolleyespink:

I very cheekily downloaded one of them to see if there was any clues in the EXIF info and note that there is none - makes me a little suspicious..............
