well, they will find the warm spots to survive .... check your clothes cupboards and always check your shoes and boots before sliding your foot in or you could be in for a shock

This is why local legend has it that there are piranhas living in the Tees. Nobody I know has ever seen one, but everyone knows somebody that knows somebody that has. Back in the 80s when piranhas were made popular by the film Piranha, people allegedly bought them. Then realising they couldn't get an endless supply of elephants to be stripped to the bone in under 3 minutes, they dumped them in the Tees. Owing to the the Tees being the recipient of all the warm filth from the local chemical and steel works, parts of the Tees stay warm all year round, and so the piranhas thrived. It must be true because we have a surprising lack of elephants around the Tees estuary.

Back in the 80s, Terrapins were very popular as pets, except they were like marmite. Of all the kids at my school that had encountered them, they either loved them for their tenacity, or hated them because they'd been the recipient of their tenacity, ie had been bitten by them.

          Im outtahere!
Warm winter training has started. Im back in London to sort out a few bits and bobs.
The Shanghai trip meant the completion of my last project for work and Im now officially on leave.
(Has anyone else been to China btw?? It was fantasic- very different to what I imagined. I was twice as tall as all the women and most of the men.
Zigs, what is the Mandarin for Bigfoot? Im sure thats what they were calling me... )

Knowing my luck it will probably snow in Portugal, but thats it now- Im out of Blighty for a long stretch.

My motto is now Go hard or Go home!

PS I'll try and keep my paws off the local wildlife.

          Hey Louise,
          Its work and sport :)
Any pleasure has been purely my own doing!

Im not complaining though! The only real casualty has been the garden and even then Ive taken some remedial steps recently- thanks to advice on here. And now Ive also pressed my dad into service while Im away. :D

We've got Wallabies living in the wild here but very rarely seen. I was lucky enough to see one two years ago driving home after dark. :)

He is such a bless! He made his entire office sign a big banner for me, and he's booked to come out to Portugal twice before Christmas.

                Yay for dads! And Grandads!

Same here. We've got loads of wobblies in the wild, but you rarely get to see them.
