You could always tell our dog did it, when I was growing up, cause she would turn her head round for a sniff.

This is fantastic. A thread that seems to have degenerated into a discussion about farts. I knew that secretly we're all on the same level:)

Mine did that to Catztail, turned around and looked at his end. Not sure it was for a sniff, but who knows, I always thought his face looked like, "me, I did that!! what was that!!!. But who are we humans to totally understand the mind of dog.
Anyway, all its been is raining here, did get a good frost the other night. And did have some low level flooding to get throurgh, the car made it getting home.

        But whatever, BE Safe everyone.

You only had to say Pwoarrrr! in our house and our dog would drop her head and disappear behind the sofa, guilty or not. :)

Its funny, I've yet to meet a dog that doesn't have some code term or other that makes them immediately become humble.

Examples include: "Who's been in the bin?", "In the tub", "Who's been in the fridge?", "What goes up?". The best, but perhaps most dangerous one, was my mam's old dag (now passed away). He was a massive Alsation. Hard as nails yet soft as putty. I reckon if he was to stand upright, he'd have been bigger than me, and certainly he was more powerful than me, and had bigger teeth. I discovered by chance that he took exception to be being called 'flee bag'. He did a very good job of expressing his opinion, with a bark that nearly shattered the windows and a face that would have made the dark lord satan run away crying, but he never actually hurt anyone or anything.

My Thompson, was a beautiful Alsation of 136 lbs. large boned, tall, and so sweet. But serious. He would just look and ponder at folks and they'd behave.
Got a obedience trophy on him. He went everywhere with me, and to hotels, bed and breakfasts, outdoor dinning. Very good with kids. Miss the guy. He rests in my garden.
