I've still got some Pumpkin Seed Steve and I'll have another go at trying to get a giant. I always grow Pumpkins anyway and am determined to grow a giant one. So I'm up for the Pumpkin challenge and the biggest tomato if that's what most folk wannt to do.

          Hi Ziggy

Hope you had a great break.

How about most bizzare planter as well and/or most unusual place to grow , we could all have a vote on that
          for a bit of fun:heehee:

Sounds fun, I grew a sunflower this year and it was a monster of a thing, the stem is still out the back, it must of been near 12 feet, I'll get a foto of the stem posted over the crimbo break, anyway I cut the head down coz it part broke under its own wieght, but I got a ton of seed off it.

Why dont we grow a whole selection of stuff? I can post ziggy the sunflower seed, with a stamped adressed envolope, why dont we all send him a packet of seed for him to divvy out? this was my first year so I need you old timmers to inspire me lolz:yess:

            Potty:)

How about a mangold wurzel growing (and hurling!) competition?

Seeds are available for Thomas Etty http://www.thomasetty.co.uk/seeds/veg-flower-2012.pdf (the yellow variety are supposed to be good for winemaking, but the red ones look like they'll grow bigger) @ 250 seeds for £1.85.

              To be in 2 parts:

              1) Growing the heaviest mangold wurzel (you can eat them, make wine from them or feed them to your cattle/goats Mangold Wurzel Recipes )

              2) Hurling mangold wurzels The Mangold Hurling Association Longest throw might be simplest as the hurling could be done individually unless anybody wanted to meet up and chuck mangold wurzels about.

              Does that sound like fun?
