Is it just me, or does anyone else get totally fed up with news coverage whenever the Royals have a health problem.

The Duke if Edinburgh had a heart problem, but he has sailed through it so well.
What marvellous people our Royals are, so able to spring back from such problems with out too much trouble.

I'm betting if he went NHS he would now be on a 6 month waiting list and sent home to do the best he can to survive.

Instead he got 5 star treatment,(probably at our cost and the expense of others in the hospital) and moans about wanting to get home.

Its time they were brought down from their pedestal, but I'm not holding my breath.

It does make me wonder when the BBC put the Duke's walk to church ahead of
        Iran 'tests medium-range missile'

I mean, get some perspective BBC, you are not "Hello" magazine.

Mind you, Jeremy Vine is regularly saying "There are other Gardening Forums available" now

A six month waiting list Pete! I wish!

I waited 19 months and 21 months for appointments in two different departments at my hospital. NHS of course! I've had health issues for over three years and it's only these last couple of weeks that we're close to a diagnosis, and that's by my GP.

Also when famous people have kids, why do newspapers act like it's a miracle? Man & wife have baby shock story!!!

P'S, the 'Royal' family don't interest me, at all... no one cared when my Grandad was ill, so why should I care about some old gimp who I've never met?

We just need them both to last for at least another 6 months , then we get the Jubilee bank holiday :happydance:So I think they both should be treated with kid gloves for the next few months . After that they can use the NHS , A and E :D

The other night the telly was jabbering to itself again and had got left on a particularly cringe-making, sycophantic programme about the royal year. Everything the royals did in 2011 was a huge success. Of all the many huge successes of 2011, the Queen's visit to Ireland was the most huge. It was a huge, huge success. Even more of a huge success than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's huge success in Canada. How did the Queen pull off the hugely successful Irish trip? She wore green. From the moment she stepped off the plane looking greener than Kermit the Frog, she had won the day. No one, in living memory, had ever looked more emerald. Then there was the state banquet. The Queen opened her speech with five words in Irish. 'Wow!', said the Irish President. Now, when I practise my five words of Welsh down at the tafarn, I get many responses, but 'wow' has never been one of them. Her Majesty was word-perfect, said Olivia O'Leary, and had even managed to do those funny sounds which you don't get in English. Although I doubt I'd ever be able to learn Irish and hold my own in a conversation, I think I could probably manage to get five words off pat, even if they did contain funny noises. Especially if I had a lackey to take me through my paces until I got the drift.
