Yes that's dad. I've still got the handle of that spade and I use it to dibble holes for my carrots.

This thread is awesome! I was going to reply to some posts but that would have been almost all of them.

Off to fudge through my photo box now .....

I think there was another thread on this same topic a year or so ago and I posted a pic of me in it but I haven't time to go trawling for it. Perhaps the two threads could be merged?

Dave W: That's a great memory, I see the kettle in the remains of a fire, so did your Dad like a brew when he was gardening?

Ziggy; I'd recognise those legs anywhere. Is that Mr & Mrs Zigs senior?

At last, the truth is revealed.....it was Ziggy who first pioneered the highly fashionable 'socks with sandals' look.

Although, for true sartorial elegance, the sandals should be of the Jesus variety. Especially when one is in Palestine.

Okay - you're all in for it now! Stand by

Me at about 4 with my precious Bambi that got lost during a house move. Strangely I still miss that little creature though had I been able to keep him, he'd likely have ended up in the bin years go!

Then me at school about 5 years old - again, oddly I still remember that dress and cardie - I hated them both with a passion!

A self portrait in the office mirror of Staff Nurse Fox in charge of the operating theatre at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital 1963. I was 22. So young, so self-confident ................. so naive!

John, Mum & Dad are the ones on the right, don't know who the older couple were.

                    Trunky, it was me:o

Mira, that thread is already pinned to the top of members gallery.

Clare, anything with grips on to dodge the bullets was good.

OH went to school in Iraq for a while - his parents were working out there. One day, the teacher said 'now, children, they're playing cowboys and Indians out there, so we're all going to form an orderly queue and leave school for a while.' :heehee: In the end it was all quite civilised, really. The gunmen agreed to stop shooting at one another for half an hour so the kids could get home unscathed.
