      Ah i see.

The retailers always bring every calender event forward, be it xmas, easter, valentines etc. etc.
It makes me angry, i think there should be a new law brought in that prevents them from selling the related stuff more than a month in advance.

Louise, Although I agree that it's ridiculous to have Easter items on sale now I wouldn't want to have a law restricting it. We have an epidemic of 'Mummystateitis' already. :heehee:

We do have the ability to ignore the sales pitches if we put our minds to it. :yess:

I find it easy to not buy these sort of things as I'm a grumpy, boring old skinflint! :loll:

You can buy cold cross buns all year round now.

But whatever happened to those nice spicy "currant buns" that we used to get?

I don't like the shops having stuff in so early - I feel I am being rushed. :dancy:

I think one of Les Dawson's gags went something like: 'you can tell it's Christmas - the shops are full of Easter eggs.'

Sainsburys is selling off loads and loads of Christmas stuff. I think people must have cut back considerably this year - I don't remember quite as many leftovers last year. If you could stay strong and delay your celebrations until after twelfth night you could have a very, very good Christmas on a pittance.

I think the title of the Thread and then the subject,
Means there is no room for lovely gardening stuff due to the cheap sweeties taking up the space al la B&Ms All the gardening stuff vanished, for Halloween, Guy Fawkes, Crimbo, Now Easter :-(
