Easy to grow chilli plants in England?

They will benefit from more light ...

Put the back of your hand under the desk-lamp, choose a distance that is comfortable and your hand doesn't feel "too warm". That's the distance that the plants need to be from the light - give it a couple of inches more to be on the safe side.

Remember inverse-square-law from School maths? If the distance between the light and the plant increase by one-unit the amount of light falls by one-unit-squared. So move the light away fro, say, 2" to 12" and the amount of light falling on the plant will be 100 times less :(

.,.. assuming that my ancient and useless memory has actually remembered that correctly ?? but above all ... if you put the lamp too close and burn the plant to death then the amount of light it receives will be irrelevant!

 

I'll move it away! Doesn't feel too hot, really.. but I'd rather they took time without the lamp than die with it

 

What date should I put in my diary fro your open day Shiney? And have you arm-twisted everyone else yet? Surely they should all be starting to sow seeds and raise plants for you by now, eh? !!

They all have their first true leaves, just need to wait for them to grow to their maximum before I put them in their own pots
