Hi Joolz, pm on the way. I know you won't want to hear this, but if you work out that, say, there were a total of 20 Snowdrops in the 4 pots.....for a fiver. Then 100 would cost you £25, whereas buying Snowdrops in the green on line, or by phone, would cost you £9 per 100!! You could buy some nice Ferns with the difference:heehee::D Plant the Snowdrops you've got now before they go over otherwise you'll get busy and forget!!!:D

Oh, you've been at Ziggy's home made brew, Spruce.:heehee::heehee::D The last thing I would buy is a "collector's" plant because, to me, their "value" is overblown and manipulated by the market. Like us all I love it when I buy a cheap plant I've never grown before and find it's a stunner. The most I've paid for a plant this year was £50 for an Acer Tree around 6' in height that a friend of mine, a Market Gardener, had got for a customer and who failed to turn up to buy it. So I was offered it at cost price and obviously bought it. There aren't many of us on GC who would pay £250 for a single bulb. Sounds like the Tulip Craze in the 18th century.:heehee::D

At that price just imagine what my Snowdrop wood full would cost!
And if you can tell the difference betwixt many of the 'different' forms of Galanthus nivalis then you are better than me.

Hey you !!!! Not a snow drop, we were looking in work today one of the girls said "imagine if a slug got it"

I wii lhave a quick nose , but I wonder how many of us have a new variety in the garden without knowing , snowdrops are known for being naughty :heehee:

              I got a 100 snowdrops £5.50 bargain all the rest went for 7 and 8 ££

just hada look still £250 the other one is £122.00 !!!!!!!
This would make a good sticky thread we could all keep a look out , Simbad told ebay 2010 daylily going for one plant £80.00 upwards but I didnt see that hapen last year most was about £35.00 but we have both spoted one in a catalouge going for £108 but all we do is drool nothing else .

100 Snowdrops for £5.50p?, that's pretty good, Spruce.:yess: You're right about unknown new varieties and not just in Snowdrops, there's plenty of plants that throw up some reasonable "sports" every now and then.

£250 for one Snowdrop, Joolz:scratch::D I've got a feeling that Darran would appreciate the nearly 4000 you could buy at the conventional price:heehee::heehee::loll::D If you could buy them at the price that Spruce did that would be 8000!!!....now that would please Darran.:D

My Snowdrops are just gathering and starting to showin numbers:

I don't think I could put a price on just being able to watch them springing out of the ground!!!:happydance::happydance::yess::thumbsup::thumb:
