i'm guessing this has been long standing... what's the definition of anti-cat - IE, if i wanted to keep cats out of the garden but not kill them / hurt them - would that be anti-cat? if not, can i ask that very question... what can i plant that they don't like but that won't hurt them?

I am very much a cat lover by the way, i have two of my own, i just don't want to have loads of cats investigating my garden fruits! lol

I had the same problem with a cat in a garden a few months ago ... asked the same question here and thread was removed

        but a quick answer ...

I ended up getting an ultrasonic sound thingy .... the cat now uses the garden on the otherside .... I have not had a prob since installing the gadget ... it does not hurt the cat .... similar to this one from maplins

Ultrasonic Animal Deterrent with PIR activation : Animal Deterrents : Maplin Electronics

It is a real problem that costs gardeners money .... these threads should not be removed

I wee in discrete places in my garden.

Cats are territorial creatures, and most respect (to some extent) someone else's territory. By weeing in my garden, I am telling every cat that ventures past to keep away, this is my territory.

Plus, wee is full of all the right minerals to feed the plants.

We wont if we can get a thread together that doesn't degenerate into a war between cat haters & cat lovers.

Its just so far, all the threads have chosen the Dark Side.

              Keep it positive & it'll stay.:dbgrtmb:

how about a sticky of the best SAFE solutions for cats... as hurting cats, wild or not, is a criminal offence under the protection of domestic animals act (i think that's what it's called)

The trick is to make sure nobody sees you. I wouldn't want to scare away any .... actually I've decided I'm going to abandon the joke I was going to make:heehee:

If it pans out then i'll stick a note on the office noticeboard, thats if the GC office cat hasn't wee'd on the post in notes again.

Aesculus always gives it milk & then forgets to let it out.
