    Hi all,

I got a set of 3 Hyacinth bulbs in the vases, hoping to force them to flower(may be from M&S), but they have developed fungus at the base. I'm thinking of using Jeys fluid powder(normal Jeys product used for outdoor bins etc )to stop the fungus. Please suggest me if I can carry on!

Flowers of Sulphur may be better. Cheers, Tony.

I think virtually anything would be better than Jeyes Fluid as that will stink your house out, overpowering the fragrance of the hyacinths.

Good evening KL and welcome to the site.:dbgrtmb: Apart from the fact it would be illegal, Jeyes dust is just not suitable. Get a proper liquid fungicide and add to the water, but only use the dosage as stated on the packaging.

As long as the the bulbs aren`t actually sitting in the water then I don`t see a problem using bordeaux mixture or sulphur dust.

Nice one as Miraflores' Mystery Blub has got a bit of fungus round the top.

Id be inclined to increase ventilation, Ziggy

Back on the bulbs in vases.
Just wondering if those cut flower food sachets might do the trick.
