    B. hell Lazydog!

Whilst I quite enjoy it sometimes, 3hrs is too long already.

I quite enjoy watching EJ stir it up afterwards! I have a lot of time for him - he offered me a job at Jordan GP, and always had a minute or two to chat when I called in or at the test sessions.

But MotoGP Sundays are my thing really.

Before Lazydog mauls you, I'll get in a "not really"!
They do overtake, although with DRS and Kers it's a little artificial. But it's the strategy behind the drivers race that does make it fascinating.........

Basically, it has become a very expensive and complex chess game!

I think that is why i like the extra's to try and double guess what will happen and why.
Must admit I preferred the red5 era of our Nige:yess:
longk what would you have been doing at Jordan
and saying 3hrs is to long last weekend i followed the Daytona 24hrs for 16hrs live and the Paris Dakar for 21 days but sadly only 1hr a day :heehee:
As for bike racing it used to be the TT:thumbsup:

Everyone knows that the secret real reason why people watch F1 is because every now and then, you get a spectacular crash.

If I had to choose a motorsport to watch on telly, it would be rally or motorcross. Like F1 but a much greater likelihood of a crash.

Lazydog - transmission shop. I have considerable experience of overhauling Mercedes auto boxes, which requires the same skill set.
I was at Daytona in 1994 when Sterling Marlin won.

Clueless - untrue! If you want to see crashes you watch NASCAR, especially the three superspeedways of Daytona, Charlotte and Talladega.
I watch F1 for moments like these.............

      Now for crashes...........
Three minutes worth of Talladega wrecks. Bear in mind that when things go wrong here you will be doing 190/200mph with up to forty other cars in close company!

That's more like it, as long as nobody in the video got properly hurt.

I like the rally and motorcross crashes because usually, as horrific as they look, nobody gets really hurt (very often) because apart from being physically very tough, they have so much protective gear its unbelievable.

I used to watch the motorcross live (at the track). Saw many crashes. In one, the rider was run over several times by bikes that were right behind him and didn't have time to stop. When the dust had settled, you just saw the rider emerge from the dust cloud, pick his bike up as quickly as he could, tried to start it again so he could get back in the race, realised it was bust from the crash, lost his temper, chucked it on the floor and started stamping on it. In another one I saw, the rider in the lead got his landing wrong after a jump, nose dived, was catapulted back into the air before body slamming the track face first, then being run over. Unfortunately he was hurt, but given that he did manage to get to his feet and walk off, it says something about their toughness and their body armour. If I body slammed the track at about 40 or 50mph and then got run over, I don't think I'd be walking away.

I went without a TV for two years. Difficult at first and then it was fantastic, so much more social. Tough when you have to consider others though, best to put it in a TV room to leave the rest of the house TV free?? And maybe get a small one? Those monster TVs have become popular, but to me it feels like having a CCTV camera trained on you. Really bizarre and freaky. Friends have a 50" screen, so now their sitting room is actually a TV screen room with a sofa and chairs, hate sitting in that room.

I've got others to consider so for this house I bought the smallest TV possible (still too big for my liking, ) and only put it on when something good is on, so not often :) but have a study with no tv which is nice.
Lately, am watching Borgen, top quality TV, and have recently enjoyed The Killing (Danish version), Wallander Brit and Swedish version and the splendid Spiral (French original) as well as the Montalbano series. Otherwise watch the news and other bits and pieces. Dislike most TV which is full of soaps, tellycooks, game shows, reality rubbish - feels like you are watching your life drain away, awful.

Good luck with resolving it though, can be tricky.
