    Things I have burnt today to keep the house warm ;

    A fence post.

    The Fig Tree that was killed in last years snow.

    Big lumps of papier maché soaked in oil from the deep fat fryer.

    Things I have got my eye on if it carries on this cold ;

    A stool.

    A chair.

    The Table.

      what about a body wrapped in a duvet smothered by a pillow would that help :D

      I seem to remember an episode of The Young Ones, where they had to burn the furniture.

      Funnily enough, I've just had a bonfire today. Saw off most of the horrid privet hedge.

        Get a hot water bottle. I couldn't live without mine. I've got it snuggled up to me now!!

        I'm wearing 4 layers.....indoors. We just had our heating sorted too :(

          I''m down to some bits of pallet, some fir cones, a worn out broom head, a broken broom handle, 3 old hockey sticks and some winebottle corks so it looks like I'm going to have to get the chainsaw out tommorow.

            Now that's an idea, but I might start on my 2 year old stack first, it's just that I haven't cut much down to replenish it yet this winter:
