Whey hey!!:yess::yess: My first Cubanola domingensis seed is germinating! Of all the seeds that I have on the go, this is the one that I was really looking forward to. The blooms are very fragrant which is to be expected as it's of the same family as Datura and Brugmansia. Here is a photo from Oxfords botanic gardens last year...............
May not even go out in the summer if it's as rubbish as last summer - it's tropical. Once I saw it at OBG though I was hooked! I got the seeds from Chiltern seeds.

Brilliant - LongK - never heard of it. It does look very like Brugmansia - but I think it is not that close. And well done Chilterns too - it seems to be a pretty rare plant.
Urged me to dig a bit PeterS and it is not that close! Should always double check others statements............. Seems a little rarer now as they are now out of stock.

I does look very similar to Brugmansia, with its long flowers which, as Chilterns said, can be too big for the plant. But I think that one of its closest relatives is Coffee. So instead of chewing Brugmansia seeds and going on a trip, you should be able to roast the Cubanola seeds, brew them up and then go on a trip. I am sorry to hear that they are out of stock - could have been seriously interested.
The seeds are on Ebay, posted from America. I assume we're allowed to import seeds from the US, I think they are banned from us to them, however. I think this plant will need to be kept indoors in the winter - although if it grows in the mountains of the Dom Rep it will tolerate a climate slightly less hot and humid.
