Unusual weather for Northern Italy but not unknown and it seems like a 40 year cycle
In Cattolica, they have photographs in the Hotels of winter 1972 with Snow on the beach and 18" deep in the town (Never known since before WWII)

What is more worrying is they also have photographs of Great White Sharks caught in the Adriatic, and I was swimming there

Cloudy and for the most part dry yesterday, temperature got up to 7 degrees but felt much cooler in the slight breeze..

Currently 4 degrees; still foreasting 10 degrees for us for Thursday and 12 for Friday :yess:

Tried the spade in the veg patch yesterday, it went in but with some resistance, not quite thawed fully and the rain butts are still iced over..

Dark overcast and drizzle 0 deg, but due to brighten up later with 5 deg on the cards.:hapfeet:

Only problem is we are due to get stronger winds from the NW today and that means the soil with thaw out a bit then dry off quickly for me.

I shall leave walking on it until it looks better.

    Ive been boxing today!

    Evening all,
weather here "france" opened the shutters this morning only to see its been snowing overnight, but its been milder all day.

I was in the workshop this morning for half an hour and found a few bits of wood i'd not seen before so i took up "Boxing" again Yes bird nest boxing.

I ended up staying in the workshop most of the day making the bird box,
Ive just got to get my hands on a clay oval roof tile to add on the top to give it that french look a coat of linseed oil and it'll be ready for screwing up a tree.:chicken:

I've had to open the vents in my greenhouse today, it got up to a barmy 11 deg C. What a change from 4 days ago when it was minus 9.

The snow has all but gone, just the remains of a few snowmen, fingers crossed that's the worst over for this winter.

Dry, cloudy and windy today. I think our temperatures have done a day/night reversal as it's warmer overnight. 6C today and 9C now at 10.15pm. :)

A nice warm 8C with the sun shining . A fair bit of breeze out there so will feel colder. Still no rain but the patio is wet with melted snow.

    Sludge?

    Evening all,
    Has the weather gone mad??
It's been mild all day and the snow "whats left of it" has now turned to sludge.

It' the sort of weather that tells you if your boots really are water tight?.

Again ive been in the work shop just pottering as my other half says,

I think anyman or woman should by law have a work shop fitted with plenty of light and a radio plus the electics to help make life nice, Oh and the kettle,

It's amazing the things you tend to listern to while your pottering about the workshop, womans hour:help:
But to be fair they have some good topics on there.

Ive enjoyed todays hideaway and her in doors has made a nice fruit cake:yess:

So all in all a nice day had by all.

A lovely blue sky and 16c so lunch at the beach today. Sadly only six days of rain since the beginning of May is very sad and the whole country is under a drought warning ... but we still have four months in which we can have rain ... :love30::love30::love30:

PS Moonraker ... woman have their own workshop ... it's called 'the house' ...

Fife day time 12c greenhouse 15c, but I am not going for this false sence of security, we always get snow in APRIL

Progressing with my digging out new beds and replacing with soil and compost ready for planting up mid April. Just basic beginners veg

Yesterday was mild here too, topped out at 11 degrees (14 in the greenhouse :D), it was a cloudy day with a moderate breeze and dry.

Already 7 degrees today (6am); which is forecast to be much the same.

We have some rain forecast for tomorrow and frost back on Sunday, down to -3 apparently...just hope its a one off and not the beginning of another frosty spell....

    Ghostly mist,

    Evening all,
Well it's a very misty sort of day, mild but ghostly mist,
Ive a spruce fir tree in the front garden It's on the far side near the pump house and it looks really nice when the summers here, those long evenings and the birds tend to sit in it, But on days like these it looks like a vampire is about to appear from behind it,

The Monkey puzzle tree you can just about see it, and again the mist is playing games trying to hide it,
Yes it's a real stay at home if you cans sort of day,

But at least its not freezing !
