two bits of really good news, no three bits ,

    Evening all
Well the weather here has been really good (good news 1) its been mild and dry and sunny all afternoon, ive been pruning the oldest apple tree in the garden,
It's in a part of the garden we're you can see most of the garden & it's we're two of our old dogs are set to rest, So this tree had to be done as ive got a nice 3 seater seat to go in front of it when the weather gets better.

(Bit 2 of the good news) it's been so warm the greenhouse auto windows opened!

And (good news bit 3) we won the lotto! Yes your talking to a lotto winner:yess::yess::yess::yess: we've won 4euro's, I'd like to thank my mum for having me, my nan for bringing me up from the age of 3years, my wife for being so nagging over the years, Oh yes my agent ! and the northorp college for the exams ref gardening and then loosing two of my certificates and the replacement ones had a girls name on them,

And please please No begging letters,:nono:

    Ahh to be a winner.

But as a good sign as i was packing the tools away this afternoon i saw (it must have been 100 cranes flying over head)
Im a great one for the signs of nature and when i see these birds flying south for the winter i know its the end of the summer and when like today i see them flying north "well is this an early spring just around the corner??

I'll be the first to say its early but you cant ignor mother nature's signs?
Lets hope its a bumper summer:D

Just a reminder (It's sunday tomorrow amen) say no more, hint hint????

The weather here today has been so Isle of Man!

Sun, rain, sleet, hail, gale force winds and to top that a thunderbolt as well, scared the living daylights out of me! :sofa:

      Temperature 3C and 4C now at 9pm.

Currently 0 degrees here; this time yesterday it was 10 degrees....:rolleyespink:

We had some hefty downpours yesterday afternoon/evening accompanied with strong winds, it quite literally went from sun and NO wind to a torrential downpour and near gale force gusts in minutes and then still again...:what:

Coupled with the erratic weather the temperature dropped as fast as I've known, from a mild 12 degrees at noon to an icy 4 degrees by 5pm...:love30: :help: :D

Ah well......this just seems to be a minor blip according to our local forecast if they have it right :D, as we're promised overcast and mild weather (11-14 degrees) from Tuesday onwards again

Well what a contrast - yesterday this time I was standing in the field in sheeting rain. Today its absolutely glorious. Had a slight frost overnight followed by beautiful blue skies.

May have to do some forking of the lawn today.

      Cooler but dry.

      EVENING ALL?
Weather here today has been ok, but getting a bit cool just now, it rained most of the night and so the ground is boggy, well with all that snow to soak away and then the rain and something eles i thought you may be interested in ref water /on ground:what::what:

We have a local D.I.Y.store here (Brico in french) and its open half day on a sunday and so i thought i'd take "roxanne' (the hound) for a drive "she likes to go for a drive, just sits there looking at whatever takes her fancy
no problems and enjoyed by us both.

But the "Brico" wont allow dogs in there unless your blind, So Roxanne stays in the car, "Now i have to make sure i turn the alarm system off because if i dont and "Roxanne" starts bouncing about the alarm goes off and i dont like to stand out.

As i pulled up on the large carpark a remembered that on a sunday the "Brico" toilets are kept locked and as i was in need of a pee, I thought i'd do what the french men all do, (find a hedge that needs watering"

Now on this car park they have around the edges "Sheds for sale" and many a time ive watched as the french look and touch these sheds as they inspect them and end up around the back of the sheds,

Well this morning i found out why!

They're not buying sheds, infact when i went around the back (in need really in need) I found a line of "shed inspectors" all standing facing the back of these sheds and all "In need really in need":mute:

Nobody says anything "they just sort of nod and look to the sky"
But two things i noticed (1) you'll not see a weed "so urination does kill weeds if you use enough of it".

      (2) Having got rid of that "need that really once needed need" these guys walked back around to the front of these sheds still looking & touching as if they we're thinking of buying one:heehee::heehee::heehee:

I wonder if the Ladies have any interest in such buildings we men dont know about.:o

Well, we had a dusting of snow during the night which turned into coarse ice crystals amid the grass, and the ice stayed where it was in the shadows. The temperature never really got above above 40f and is at 39f at the present time of 7pm. The sun was out and actually felt warm so I sat out in the arbour with a cup of tea and watched the birds on the feeders. Then at around 3.45pm the clouds moved in and the temperature seemed to drop. During the afternoon the Kitchen area became surprisingly warm due to the sun coming through the big window.........lovely!:hapfeet:

After the very light frost this morning it turned in to a lovely "spring" day, the sun was lovely and warm and lasted all day, although the light breeze was a little icy in the shade.

Managed to get out for an hour though and did some weeding and pruning :dbgrtmb:

Your not reading what i said!

it feeds the roots but if your to fresh & to near the plant stems you'll kill it "if your watering urine daily by an army of french men all day long.
