What can I do now? The ground is frozen solid and has been all week. Its the weekend and I wanted to crack on. What sort of things can I be getting on with while the ground is doing its glacier impression?

Best not to try to do anything outside in the freezing weather. Why not check over your tools and equipment. Sharpen and oil the secateurs and shears, sharpen the hoe, & spade, put some linseed oil on wooden shafts. Check that you have enough pots / seed trays and the like, book the mower in for service etc., - then a nice cuppa and sit down in front of the fire !

And don't forget to grab a few seed catalogues or gardening books to flick through at the same time. I doodle on the backs of envelopes, new garden design ideas, names of plants I'm reading about and have to have one of these days!

If you've got a garage or somewhere under cover, make a cold frame or something else for the garden.

Browse the seed catalogues, visit the garden centre, make sure the last of the leaves are collected up for leafmold, have a bonfire.

Its thawing out down here, but i've done most of the stuff I need to do before the season so i've just bought some ragworm, prawns & new mainline.

Tides are springs at the moment, its just started to come back in so will be off to the beach towards dusk.

Hoping for Plaice & Sardines (Reported in the locality a few days ago) but expecting dogfish.

          Sorry, wandered off Gardening there:sofa:

...also sounding like a bit of a teachers pet...there's always someone out there who seems to have done all their homework ready for school!!!
Good luck with the fishing, my mouth's watering here.

I gave up on that today due to the windchill from the jigsaw's dust blower on my fingers. After a few minutes they were absolutely frozen - must work out if I can turn it off.
