    Despite it all longk, if you & he can sit & talk about it the way you do I think that is fantastic & he must be taking it on board otherwise he wouldn't be going to see your Doc.. Well done you mate for keeping the dialogue going & trusting him.... Trust is a huge thing to get over without rows.. Well done mate & I hope he sees the futility of taking it soon.. Difficult times...

      Thanks - we've always been absolutely open with him. Never "glammed" our pasts up, and certainly emphasised the friends that I've lost. And 18 months ago he lost a friend to heroine. He's pretty sensible, but this E thing is more about the arrogance of youth - been there, done it! I see very little point in saying "don't", far better to say "it's not a good idea because........".

        Yes agree, the word "don't" is like a red rag to a bull.. Talk & chat go miles further in helping them understand & get through these years.. Confusion reins in their brains until they get past 21 I think & then allot start to get real direction in their lives & settle down to it.. Sounds like your lad is doing ok with your support & input, although I doubt he will admit it yet... :D That comes later in life.. :thumbsup:
