This year, I am confident that I'm going to receive a rather nice present from OH. This is because I chose it :heehee:. It makes up for a rather unsavoury incident which happened the year before last. I came down the stairs to find, waiting for me on the hall table, the loveliest bouquet you can possibly imagine. With it was a large box of gift-wrapped chocolates. I just had time to exclaim with delight when the voice of my beloved shouted: 'Don't get excited. The girl over the road is out, so I told the courier I'd take those flowers in for her.' :D Unfortunately the young lady never did claim her bouquet, so it spent several days in my conservatory getting more and more bedraggled. Eventually I demanded that OH take it over the road and, if necessary, leave it to decay outside. It turned out that the flowers were meant as some sort of peace offering, but our neighbour wasn't about to call a truce. She didn't much want her admirer's flowers or his chocs. Shame. They looked like quite nice chocs.

Well ClaraLou, you certainly deserve the gift you chose for yourself. What is the old saying: if you don't treat yourself right, no one will.

As far as us, we truly do not need another object to be brought into the house, unless it is a couple of carrots or two of sparkle. But, out to dinner would just be acceptable for me. There is a local resturant about 5 mins from home, probably offering a valentine special dinner. http://www.stottsville.com/

      Happy Valentines Day to all.

Our local Cheapo store is doing chocolate 'roses' bunged on the end of green plastic sticks and badly wrapped in red foil for 75p! Fed up with your girlfriend? Show her how much you really don't care with this thoughtful gift.

The most excellent way to tell her exactly how much she means to me.

I'll spend my customary fiver in Asda/Tesco for some roses.Best fiver I spend all year.
It's not worth the aggro to not do so.

When I was a young girl, a valentine was always from an unknown admirer!!! I think it is a bit pointless if you know who has sent it!!

                        I agree, really, Val.

I once arrived at work to find a single red rose on my desk. I suppose I should say I was delighted, but actually I found it a little bit creepy. Fortunately, it transpired that the slightly unhinged chap who had left it there had also placed a similar offering on the desks of every single female in the building. Perhaps he was just hedging his bets.

Going by the look on Ron's face, i'd say every single card you got was from him Val:wub2::thumbsup:
