Strong onion ?

    This quetion i am asking on behalf of a client

    he says which is the best onions to grow for strength in taste as he is fed up with these mild ones you get now ?

    any recommendations ?

    Getting busy by the look of it !!!

    Deffo go for yellow skined onions ones.
    Rossana is my favourite for strong flavour but others may and will sugest other ones are you growing from seed or sets ??

    I always find shallots have much more of a kick than onions.

      as in i am a carer and he is my client lol
      we were just chatting today and the question about strong onions came up he said that they used to be so strong a few rings would be enough but now you can eat the whole thing as it so mild

      i dont know depends on what is recommended i guess as he cant do it anymore i would help him :WINK1:

      I usually grow Sturon mainly because they store really well, generally they are mild tasting but every now and then one blows your head off :scratch:

      this is why i had to ask here because i too grow sturon so couldnot offer an alternative

        I too like a strong tasting onion , and also will be growing Sturon this year . Is there any technique to maximise the strength of them - say feeding or picking size :scratch:
