Press Alt + PrintScreen (that will only do the CURRENT window, if you want the whole screen press PrintScreen [without the Alt] instead)

that puts a screen snapshot on the clipboard.

Open your favourite graphics program and make a New image.

    PASTE the screen snapshot

    SAVE as a suitable file

Very slightly off topic but, as a computer idiot, what is this update for Google. I just click on Google when I want to do a search. Didn't know it needed updating.

It doesn't, but Google now remembers you (from a cookie stored on your machine) and you can customise it to have weather and news and "stuff" if you want (see "iGoogle")

You can "log in" to Google so you get a consistent presentation across Home/Work/other machines ...

    ... and so on.

If you just want to Search that's fine. I don't need all the other gizmos either, but they are all the vogue ...

Only one I find useful is that, if logged in, you can "block" sites (in the search results list) that annoy you, and then they are suppressed.

But Google is tracking your searches, and if you choose to login it knows more specifically who you are, so you then find adverts popping up about things you have searched for - which you may find useful, or annoying. Mostly I find it annoying as the most common use of my Browser is work related, looking at client's sites that we are working on, and everywhere else I go on the Net I now get Google Ads targeted to me - trying to sell me my Client's products, which I am not actually remotely useful to me!

I assumed it was google as they've had a message up for a few weeks about changing their privacy policy and this morning the in private brousing button dissapeared too.

But the machine did install a few updates when I shut down last night.
