I find the new site very white and bright.

I had to go and put on my sunglasses viewing it, which is a bit of a nuisance. :cry3:

Have to say I don't like it. Much preferred the way the sub-forums were displayed on the front page of the old one.

AND - the Games Arena has re-appeared.

Not too sure that the "More Options" button (used to be 'Advanced') is worth using. There appears to be only two differences between the two options. On the up side - it allows you to preview your post. On the down side - it doesn't show all the other posts, which means I can't refer back to what someone else has said.

Only reason to use it is if you want to change "Watch this thread" and/or "receive email notifications" ... so it is indeed "more options" rather than "advanced editing" :) so for those that could be the final step after composing.

Don't have an answer to Preview though, I use that when I go off on one writing an essay :)

sadly it seems that the site is too high traffic to have it enabled on our current small vps.

in future when our server is bigger it should be less of an issue

There maybe a work around but as i'm literally off the job, once i type this, if anything went wrong resident staff may not be aware how to fix it

If i find a future fix however to re-enable it i shall certainly provide the fix here

Its the Latin name for a special F1 hybrid of technical wizardry. Nothing you need to worry about Shiney :)

It was a feature which allowed people to watch posts and threads being made in real time without having to refresh the page

I'm using What's New. I've tuned it (via the Drop Down options when hovering the mouse over my UserName, then select "What's New" from the options list) to ignore forums that I have no interest in.

Haven't yet decided what's the best way to keep up to date with what I might want to respond on.

My biggest issue is that I cannot see which threads I have authored / participated in on the What's New list. Can you?

When I participated on the TEST site there was a little "small version" of my Avatar against threads I had participated in.

Ah ... Ding! ... I have not uploaded an Avatar here, I'll try that and see if it helps

just a note i showed Daisies how to disable spy if it ever causes trouble again so for now its back on and server cpu is a mere 2-4% (good) unlike yesterday when it was running at 90%+

          also this is a vps

I have also noted that I cannot see a thread I have just created, nor responded to if it is my own ... I only see it appear on What's New when someone else responds to it. :dunno:
