Last year I mananged to germinate about twenty hosta seeds and although several of them were pretty boring green strappy leaves, there were at least half a dozen that looked hopeful in blue round leaves and variagated leaves. They died back over the winter and was hoping someone might be able to tell me when they should be showing signs of growth again or have they kicked the bucket over winter?

No way, they are hardy as hell. Wait a few more weeks, though if you inspect the ground very closely you might already see a few tiny devil horns appearing.

      Morning Mrs C
I also germinated a few Hostas last year , had them pricked out in small cells . They made a small plant and died down .I left mine in my mess tunnel and looked at the last week . No real movement yet but I could see a litle hard centre point so looks promising , Think we just need to wait a while longer.

As I have lots and lots of Hostas in my many many gardens, they are no way near peaking out yet. Besides bulbs appearing, I have seen my virgina blue bells up a little.
