I've got my Grandmothers favourite dish - kept at her bedside for odds & sods.
I've had it more than 50 years. She'd had it since she was married - at least.
That places it at 1918 or thereabouts.
It's not worth anything, but has it's place in the display cabinet. My mother used to use it as an Ash tray at one time??

And I thought you were an 1890's baby boomer as well Ziggy !
I have just had a think on this question , we don't have anything of any age at all in our house.:cry3: Seems a shame as I am fascinated by history and pre history , my sister does the family genealogy . Does early IKEA or the middle period MFI count ?

Yes, and I've got two fingers for you!! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I've been giving this topic some thought. Apart from some books that date back to the 1800's (bought them new :heehee:), we have some family heirlooms (pieces of horrible jewellery) that go back many generations. Haven't the faintest idea why we don't try to flog them (I have a suspicion that nobody would want them) but they have sentimental value.

Something that we do have that we use regularly is a Tempo Taste-T-Toast. It's the best sandwich toaster I have ever come across :dbgrtmb: and was made to go on a gas hob or open fire and is made of (I think) cast iron. I've been using it since at least 1951.

              That's a good one.

I've got some medals which my grandfather won in the Korean War, plus his Kukri knives (he was an officer in the Ghurkas).

I guess the other oldest things I have are some football programmes from the fifties which my dad gave me (mostly Stoke and Wolves) and Man City ones which I've collected myself

I have this ring, inherited from my paternal grandmother, its approximate age 110 years old. Known then as a keeper ring it would probably be called a buckle ring now. It's 14 carat gold and the flowers on it are beautiful. My grandmother had tiny hands and unfortunately I've got large ones, so can only where it on my 'pinky'. It will be past down through our female line. :) 129.JPG

Nice one Sheal. If you have a look at the hallmark, you can find out where it was made & the exact date.
