I'm very sorry that I didn't get around to checking out the new layout and giving feedback before now. I think everything looks fine and I don't have any real problems. I miss the 'thank you' button, because 'like' isn't always appropriate. I also miss the fact that the old system alerted you when you had received new 'likes', which sounds a bit narcissistic but was in fact quite a good way of keeping up with active threads.

Its coming clearer PeterS, Today at 1:38 AM
clearly a file has been uploaded PeterS, Today at 1:47 AM

Did you go to bed then?!

What browser/version are you using? (It should say somewhere under Help : About). I suspect that the version of javascript in your browser is "old", i.e. you have a relatively old browser version.

Oh, OK ... I obviously just need to investigate things a little more closely. Would still like a 'thanks' button, though ...

Yup. Works differently ... I think THANKS button would enable people to say thanks without a post. If they make a "thanks post" the thread gets tickled, and appears in What's New ...

Kristen - you are marvellous - thank you so much.

I was on IE 7, and have just upgraded to IE 8 and everything seems to work perfectly. :hapydancsmil:

And yes I did get to sleep in the end.

And thanks also for the comments to ClaraLou. I find that sometimes if I blink there have been another 10 posts made in a thread when I finally see it.

This is not a bug or a complaint - just a comment on change in usage.

In the Private Conversations (ie messages). If you send different packets of seed to 6 people all with the same title of Seeds, your inbox lists 6 identical titles and you have no way of knowing which conversation is with which person without going into them all.

Once you have recognised the situation, its not a problem. You simply need to be more specific in the title. Ie "Seeds to Fred".

      gcmasthead.png

But I've still got it (cleared everything/rebooted), or to be more precise the ads under the GC Masthead don't display, nor does the Gardeners Corner bar with 'quick links' on the RH side, nor my avatar/info on the RH side. As these don't display, the 'masthead' has almost completely dropped down into the space vacated by them, leaving the GC Menu bars actually in the same postion as before, but now appearing on top of the 'dropped' GC masthead.
