I am going to the renal clinic on the 28th March. I shall ask him if they intend to do anything about the stone. I have chronic kidney disease stage 3 apparently that is why they are monitoring me at the renal clinic. I understood they sometimes disolve of their own accord. I have been having bad back ache lately. :ouch1:

How do. In and out of hospital. There's three stones ... a 6mm one stuck in the Ureter, and a 4mm and 8mm back in the kidney.

They tried 2 weeks ago to remove the stuck stone using an endoscope and laser, but due to complications they couldnt do it. Though they did manage to put a stent in, so the kidney could start to drain and start functioning again. The stent is rather painful when I need to go to the toilet.

So on Thursday they tried the old "sound blast" method. I'd describe this as being electrocuted in the side, twice a second, for 30 minutes, that's 3500 "pulses". I'm supposed to be passing bits of stone now, but nothing yet, so I've got a feeling this has failed too. Back next week for an xray, will find out then.

Soooooo ... possibly two failures, third time lucky ? :)

Oh, and they've still got to go in and (probably) laser the 2 stones in the kidney still, at some point.

Feeling a bit ropey today, hey ho ...

oh Len you are frightening the shite out of me. Actually how you describe that is similar to how they lasered my irises recently thump thump thump like bolts into my eyes so I know what lasering feels like. Oh gosh I have my renal appointment on the 28th. I do wish you well and hope all goes well with you. As far as I am aware I have only the one stone although the pains I have had in my lower abdomen lately does make me wonder if it has moved. I only hope that they sort you out soon. xx

Dopey, commiserations on the removal of your kidney, hopefully you will be better off without it. I'd give you one of mine but I don't think that either are fit for donating. I have CKD.3 So I guess I will not be donating either very soon. Just hoping I can keep them at that level. Take care all and I hope your pain will be lessened.
