    Oh well I have to confess
    Breakfast weekdays
    Fresh fruit juice
    Bacon egg sausage and tomatoes, two cups of strong tea
    Weekend
    Fresh fruit juice
    Bacon egg sausage, tomatoes, Haggis, black pudding, hash browns, beans, pease pudding and fried bread large pot of strong tea

    Ten o'clockers, large coffee, and chocolate biscuit

    Officers to Lunch ratings to Dinner
    Soup, meat, potatoes, veg, Rice or Sago pudding, OR Jam rolly polly/Spotted Dick with custard
    Fruit
    Glass of full cream milk, and Pot of strong tea

    Four o'clockers, tea and a sticky bun

    Evening meal, ham and mashed potatoes, or, cowheel and tripe with crusty bread,
    Spag Bol, or a meat curry with rice, Glass of Port, Large bottle of Vino

    Evening beer, or Vino, a couple of the Malts

    Nine o'clockers, cheese and crackers,

    Hot chocolate/Horlicks/Ovaltine, with biscuits

    Ooops forgot the snacks, welsh rarebit, beans on toast, or similar

      Let's see if I got it:

      WEEKDAYS
      Breakfast: heavier than the croissant-cappuccino italian breakfast but defenetely lighter than the traditional British breakfast.
      Lunch: lighter than the traditional italian lunch. A half way between a snack and a lunch.
      Dinner: it is the MAIN MEAL where British do a "full-petrol-tank" before going to bed in a satisfied mood.

      WEEKEND
      Breakfast: it is the traditional British breakfast made of every thing that makes it a COMPLETE MEAL. It can be considered a MAIN MEAL.
      Lunch: it is a sort of snack or just a bit more.
      Dinner: sure enough it is a meal but not as heavy as during weekdays.

      Did no one mention Sunday Lunch to you? I cannot believe that the majority of the real British population do not enjoy this staple meal!
      Roast Beef (or Pork or Lamb, or Chicken), Yorkshire Puddings(s), Roast Potatoes, Vegetables (between 2 and 6 types), rich Onion gravy (ideally) - starter and Pudding are subject to personal preference (or capacity)

        Most days I eat one meal, that being at about 5pm. Sometimes I have breakfast, be it cereal or a bacon barm, but it's rare I eat before 5pm.

          Today I 'ave been mainly eatin' ... chocolate. Special offer on Green and Black's down at the supermarket. I didn't have the strength to resist. Now I've got to live on air for the rest of the week.

            Everyone has their own version of things, Maksim, but these recipes are good. I use olive oil rather than sunflower oil for my Yorkshire puddings and cook them as individual portions in a cake tray. It's very important to get the oven nice and hot - and don't forget the salt, otherwise they won't rise and you will have pancakes. This recipe says 'season' with salt but I would suggest using around a small teaspoonful. It makes 24 small puddings so unless you want that amount I'd halve the ingredients.

              They don't have freezers in Germany, something to do with not being able to aford them after paying reparations for 2 world wars. Oh no wait, I think we were the ones that carried the can for that while their economy boomed, stupid of me to think there had been any fairness there.

                  Onion Gravy
                  Put a peeled onion in a pan of boiling water and simmer until onion purried
                  add the liquid From your roast joint to the pan, and some browning or beef/chicken/pork/lamb stock cubes

                  Yorkshire puddings are served two ways
                  A. as a single dish on its own, with gravy poured over it
                  B. included on the main meal plate

                  Originally served as a single dish, As the more you ate the less meat was needed to fill your stomach (more affordable) on the main meal

                  However it is a very good meal, so it is now part of the main meal for its taste and accompaniment

                  In the UK they now offer a large dish yorkshire pudding "FILLED" with savoury ie minced meat and gravy, potatoes and peas
                  or more common, Bun sized in with your main meal plate

                  Originally a bread tin size and filled with the onion gravy served as a first course to fill you up, before the more expensive main dish so you needed less
