Well! They promised rain for last night and this morning but it never arrived. All the plants are really gasping for water (only one day of rain in almost 4 months) so the sprinkler will have to come out for the newer plants (I'd stored it away as we only have just over two weeks to go to the hosepipe ban). I'll wait till lunchtime to see if the rain arrives.

I had an interesting chat with the water authority yesterday as I've found an anomaly in their 16 pages of drought regulations. The 'drought adviser' that I spoke to is having it checked out and will come back to me about it. We also discussed my back problem and she said that I could probably get a limited dispensation for use of a hose as that problem, combined with my age (she was very diplomatic :heehee: ) , is likely to bring me into the exceptions. It would require a medical certicate, which I could get, but I am going to attempt to get by without it. The occasional drop of rain would help.

A better day than forecast to start with yesterday; it was meant to be cold with occasional showers but it was mild enough (topped 15.5 degrees) to do some work in the garden with just a t-shirt on. Hazy sun and no wind during daylight hours...

Then just as it was going dark the temp dropped and it became quite chilly and we had a few hours of moderate to heavy rain - which was much needed...

      Currently 5 degrees...

15.5 degrees and a T shirt!!!! These old bones would still want a thermal vest and coat :heehee:.

We were promised quite a lot of rain but someone forgot to tell the clouds. It was damp out for most of the day but no perceptible rain. Everything just seemed to be dripping with water as though there was a heavy fog - which there wasn't.

It's currently 3C with a forecast high of 10C with rain. So, of course, the sun is coming up over the horizon and with a cloudless sky!

Misty and moderate rain for half the day yesterday and overnight as well, and now still some light rain. Very light breeze. Supposed to be bright and 10C this afternoon.

The best sunny day we've had here in West Cheshire for a week. It wasn't all that warm, just in the mid 40f's, but it was so nice to see the blue sky and bright light again. There was also a pair of Buzzards circling in the sky all day, hope they weren't looking for me!:heehee:

Armandii, I could probably have waved to you today it was so clear. I was driving up on the mountain road and could see Scotland and the Lake District quite clearly. :)

Yesterday was a very mixed day, heavy rain to start with, that cleared to pleasant hazy sunshine by late morning and then we had one or two heafty showers in the afternoon, topped 12 degrees.

Its currently 1 degree, cold enough for a little ice on the cars, clear and sunny though

Quite frosty and bright sunshine. It bodes well for a pleasant afternoon.

Beautiful day out there - shame I have to go to work.

Dew on the ground and current temp at 2.7C.

Have done my morning walk round and checked on several young Clematis which I planted out yesterday.
