    Thought you may be interested to know:-
    I've been in discussion with the Water Authority over some anomalies in the Drought Order. Nearly everything has been ironed out, interpretations worked out etc but I received a phone call from them a short while ago with some info that may be of use to some of you.

    On domestic properties you cannot use a hosepipe for watering in a greenhouse but you can in a polytunnel. So those of you that have a large poly, and no watering facility run to it, can use a hose to water your plants - if you have to. I suppose it would be best to contact your own water authority to clarify the matter.

    Edit: Although drip hoses and trickle hoses are allowed throughout the garden, seep hoses are banned.

            I wonder where the line is drawn between a greenhouse and a polytunnel,is it a dome roof or plastic and not glass?

            Ah ... so leaving the bubblewrap up, for the summer, means I can use a hose in the greenhouse tunnel? !!

            Or you could put plastic over the outside of the greenhouse - but do you have to have a door at each end to make it into a tunnel?

            Good point. Most of the Plastic Tunnel greenhouses I've ever seen should have been called Plastic Cul de Sacs !!

              They will never catch on with a name like that.

              Why dont they just ban the use of hoses, I mean where are they coming from with exceptions like this.
              No wonder no one takes them seriously.

                Yes that's what I'm struggling to understand, when it was first announced I thought OK put the hose away in the shed and forget about it, but now there's this growing list of exceptions I'm confused :rolleyespink:
