Hello everyone. Shiney, well done on the £600 raised for the weighing machine. Good luck with the rest of your pressure hosing.

Loli, glad the girls are beginning to sort themselves out. They should soon know their pecking order.

I had a nasty accident yesterday with a mug of boiling tea before I could put the milk in I knocked it all down myself and this morning I have blisters coming up. I put E45 cream on immediately I did it but although it eases the pain a little it didn't stop the blistering.

I hope everyone else is ok. Have a good weekend all.

Moyra, sorry to hear of your little accident. Although E45 cream is good it only has a little vitamin E in it. What you really need are vitamin E capsules which contain vutamin E oil. When you've burnt yourself and run the burn under a cold tap for as long as you can take it, dap the burnt area dry and then pierce the end of the capsule and squeeze a little of the oil onto the burnt area. Then swallow what's left. Take one capsule per day and put more oil on each day.

    Wish you better :dbgrtmb:

Morning Everyone, I shall have to go out and uncover my cloches soon just hope the sun has taken the frost away.

I rubbed my blisters during the night and because I hadn't any plasters big enough put loads of E45 cream on laid a piece of kitchen towel in two across my tummy and then used some plaster tape to hold it in position. Should have done that before I accidently rubbed the blisters.

Well Amber is saying it is time for her walk, Loli I used to love watching the chooks when we kept them, they are amusing to watch.

Shiney don't over do the pressure washing and look after your back. Like you Loli I hope absent friends are all ok. Have a good day all. :)

Thanks Shiney but I don't do shopping. I order online from either Tesco or Sainsbury, whichever suits me best at the time for certain items.

Although the burn is still looking angry I am pleased to say the E45 is taking the sting out of it and I am sure given a few more days it will be on its way to being healed.

I hope our weather forcasters have got their predictions wrong because if we get heavy snow I am not sure what my little seeds under cloches are going to do. Well it was a risk I took and I shall just have to buy some more fleece and double blanket them at least fleece lets the light through while at the moment I am covering the cloches with one double layer of fleece and side flaps from a gazebo which of course do not let the light in so their day is shortened. If I double up again with fleece that might be preferable if I cannot undercover them much during the day for a while. Haven't got to that yet!:)

Hope everyone is ok and that it is because you are busy gardening there is a no show on here. Take care all.:)

    Good morning everyone,

Had a very busy morning and will be going out to finish the pressure hosing (I hope) in a minute.

It's very sunny but quite cold. So I'll wrap up warm.

    Have a great day

Do you not have an Aloe Vera plant Moyra? They provide good immediate relief from a burn

Good morning Shiney Moyra and everyone.

Loli, hope the new chooks are settling down nicely and i bet you are looking forward to having some nice fresh eggs every day soon:blue thumb:

Moyra, that burn sounds nasty and hope that it soon heals as it must be very sore.Glad to hear that the decorating is all but finished now and I bet it looks really nice:blue thumb:

Shiney,I have banned Mr K from using the pressure washer as we are trying to conserve as much water as possible and nearly all of our waste water is being used to keep our garden plants alive at the moment.

It is dull here this morning and we might get a drop of the wet stuff but will have to see how it goes.I managed to gte to the lottie yesterday and emptied two of my rubble sacks full of compost into to empty ones and i was amazed as to how many worms there were in it especially where i had put soggy cardboard as the worms seem to love the stuff:yes: My shoulders are painful now though so will have to take it easy for the next few days or so:snork:

Hope Woo and Penny are both ok and are getting lots of nice spring sunshine:SUNsmile:

    Good morning everyone....
Hope you are healing well Moyra....
I received my Free David Austin Rose this morning...Well i say free...i had to pay £5 for p&p...it was an offer in a gardening paper...it's called Generous gardener ,it's bare rooted and looks a sorry looking specimen...'He's' soaking his 'feet' at the moment in a bucket of water....i think i'll have to plant it in a big container as i just can't decide where to plant it:rolleyespink:...
When checking the chooks last night i had my usuall 'girlie' chat with them telling them what good girls they were and then went into the greenhouse to wrap the seedlings up...i heard myself talking to them too AND i called them good girls aswell:rolleyespink:...i think someone should keep an eye on me don't you:heehee:
take care everyone have a good day:SUNsmile:

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

Kandy, I hope your shoulders ease up soon

My back is quite bad at the moment but I've nearly finished the pressure hosing. If it doesn't get done now then the algae and fungus on it that has accumulated during the winter will get worse and possibly become slippery. As we get the handicapped kids coming round, and a number of infirm wrinklies :old: visit regularly, it's an 'Elf and Safety matter as well.

I usually do it three times a year which stops it from building up. A lot of the cause is because of the trees all around. The willow is the worst culprit and drops stuff all year round. The male catkin of the willow creates more mess than the female one :heehee:. Then, of course, the pheasants sometimes leave their calling cards on the patio. They're normally quite good and leave them elsewhere but I think that sometimes they must have parties on the patio. Then we get the pigeons and doves sitting on the pergola and messing the patio underneath. Just a quick hosing gets most of the bird mess off fairly easily but some chemicals in it affect the patio if left too long.

The water authority phoned me the other day and reckon that they will give me an exemption on medical grounds if I complete the paperwork they are sending me. The exemption still won't allow me to use a pressure hose or a sprinkler or water the lawn (which I never do, anyway). It'll be to allow me to water the veggies and pot plants (has to be hand held hose) and to use the hose for washing off any health hazard (bird poo on the driveway under the neighbour's trees is the worst - and it's rotting the tarmac) as it's not possible to explain to the kids not to pick it up.

The garden is looking really good now as it's getting its spring colours :dbgrtmb:

    Have a great day
