It's surprising how many people are avid gardeners Jack. At my work there are the golf and football bores who spend all monday morning discussing the weekends fixtures, but people don't tend to stand around talking about compost, seeds and plants :) . We had a plant swap at work last week and I was pleasantly surprised at the number of people who brought stuff in and were very knowledgeable too.

If we had a local, then I would be more than willing to stand that round
Unfortuantely it will have to be a virtual beer and a short, unless I am down
        your way

Too true, when I was young and fit, after lots of Monday mornings, I found it better to play in a team, than hear 30 people describing the match on Sunday, As I was there each individual no longer told me of who played what and where Ah RELIEF but sore

        Gardening you are right
After eight years at this place I retire next friday (13th)
One of the managers actually spoke, and asked what I was going to do with my time
I advised I was new into Gardening
        Wow
Turns out he has gardened all his life and has a football pitch sized garden at the back of his country house that he grows to the max
Then the first time ever in eight years I was allowed off the phones for more than 4.5 seconds, whilst he advised me what to do, and what he would bring in on Tuesday for me after the Easter shut down
The guy has never even acknowledged me before
(It is strange aged 65 to have a manager aged 52, I was always the manager or most senior engineer until needs must)
