The race should have been restarted from where that pratt in the water stopped it. Twenty minutes of faffing around ruined the race. I have no doupt that next year there will be a police launch leading the boats. Cheers, Tony.

I didn't watch it, but from what I have heard, they should have just continued with the race.

If the bloke had got a oar in his face it would have been his own fault.

Tony i dont think boats are allowed in front of the racing teams as the wash caused would throw them off course .. that guy ruined a good race for me .. as it was neck and neck and would have been a hard fought finish .. they should make sure he pays a heavy fine .. always some one to spoil ya fun eh .. then the Oxford boat broke a paddle by being far too close .. im surprised those oar paddles break so easily .. bout time they were made of a stronger material .. hope the guy that collapsed in the boat is ok .. he's in Hospital right now .. Micky

Exactly Pete im sick of these low life types .. spoiling our days days by getting their anti establishment points across .. the fine should be 2000 pounds or 3 months clink .. but i expect with our soft judicery he will get a night in the cells and a slap on the wrist .. in the olden days he would have put in the stocks ... Micky

agree it should not have been stopped so long as the umpire boat could have cleared the swimmer, the following armada could have picked him up.Might have saved the day for Oxford and their exhausted rower

Any news of the lad who collapsed? It was awful no-one noticed him for over five minutes. And ironic he is a doctor!

Hope he's ok. It's not unusual for people to conk out at the finish, though. They always have medics on standby at Henley and they're often kept quite busy. A couple of years back my stepson needed their attentions. Mind you, it didn't stop him going to the end of event party.
